Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

The Bears drafted for their needs. Now we will see if they pan out.

And somehow they have 5 picks in the 7th round...

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

St. Louis Rams
1) Chris Long DE_A
2) Donnie Avery WR_B-
3) John Greco OT_B+
4) Justin King CB_A-
4) Keenan Burton WR_B+
5) Roy Schuening OG_B
6) Chris Chamberlain SS_C-
MR. IRRELEVANT........?

I loved the Chris Long pick, even if Dorsey had a slightly higher ranking, the Rams needed a DE much worse than they needed a DT. I liked Avery and Greco before the draft, but thought we could have gotten them one round later than we did. Getting King in the 4th made up for it though. Burton looks like he could be a steal as well. Hopefully we can get some special teams studs late.

B+

B for Dallas...getting two CBs and two RBs is questionable, and not taking a WR. but they got a good looking TE, Felix Jones, and Jenkins.

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

I've been so focused on Bowen, Rubin, and the possibility of Bltyhe that I wasn't really paying much attention to the Cardinals draft. Though I noticed they drafted Brandon Keith from UNI.

Vikes a C-, they may get one quality starter from it at safety.

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

I liked the fact that the Minnesota Vikings picked up John David Booty. he could be pretty good in the years to come. They needed someone to battle with tarvaris.

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

I think the Chiefs did well on Day 1, but I'm not completely sold on the day two picks. Probably about a B+.

'A' for the Packers. Added depth and youth at the positions they needed to.

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

chiefs wanted 6 starters from the draft...

1. Dorsey...yeah
2. Albert...yeah
3. Flowers is very solid and should start
4. Charles won't start but will be a great change of pace with speed to help lj and kolby
5. Cottam should start in the 2 tight-end formations
6. Will Franklin is my boy from mizzou and has great speed and would be great opposite d-bowe...he should start at some point
7. Robinson could be a great special teams guy and maybe even the punt returner

i see 6 possible starters and 8 players(morgan on sp. teams) which should contribute a lot and Carr could even be a sleeper pick...but time will tell, hopefully it all pans out. and i am not a cubs fan so i am not going to say we will win it all every year, but we should return to playoff form in a few especially if next years draft is like this years and brodie pans out to be at least decent when he gets an o-line

overall grade for k.c. is an A-...best draft top to bottom i have seen for us in a long while. i just hope the grade is still A- in 2-3 years

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

cheifs needed 6 starters but they needed 2 of those to be linemen and probably not just the one corner. the tight ends were needed to add depth and i think it is quality depth. im hoping these WRs pan out...maybe a wes welker type hidden deep in the draft. or even if franklin=colston would be sweet. i wish they wouldve gotten another corner to provide competition to the 2 they got. another OL wouldnt have hurt for 3 total incoming and an imcoming DE wouldve been good instead of those late round WRs and the retrun guy...OVERALL B-

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

I gave the Bears a C-. They drafted defense too much when offense is the primary concern. I didn't like how they handled the RB or WR situation but I did like the Williams pick from Vandy.

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

Chargers didn't have many picks to work with. AJ Smith always finds value though, and they really only needed back-ups at corner and tackle. Probably a B.

If you consider what he got last season for the picks he gave up in this draft, he did really well. Probably an A.

Re: Grade your Teams Draft for 2008

what was with the bears and the vikings passing on QBs early. the vikings ended up getting who i think will end up the best QB out of this class in the long run, even though i'm not a fan of him at all. but the bears never did draft one.
