Marco Andretti interview by Jon Miller

Thanks Jon, I caught your interview with Marco on my way home today. He must be in town promoting the race. He's a good guy and when the car is right he's pretty darn fast!! You did a good job on the interview. Last year Helio was here promoting the race and I can't remember if anyone else came along.

Here are some of my photos from last years Iowa race if you are interested.

And, my father was a pretty good photographer and here is some vintage Indy stuff from the 40's and 50's. I donated all my dad's photos to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway because they didn't have many color photographs from that era. They about flipped when they saw these!!

Re: Marco Andretti interview by Jon Miller

I don't know how to feel about Marco. I don't know much about how he came through the ranks, so perhaps he dominated lower series, but it seems that in IndyCar he's having trouble finishing races. In the races he does finish he runs well, but is that matter of good driving or have superior machinery being on one of the top teams in the series. I don't really know the answer, just throwing it out there to stir up some discussion.

While we're at it, I certainly hope that the unification means a good blend of road/street courses and ovals...the Kansas race over the weekend wasn't exactly riveting to watch.

I can't wait for them to come to Iowa Speedway this summer in Newton, Iowa! It's so cozy tailgating for the race, and it provides some tailgating inbetween seasons! Oh and I like to see all the huge private jets that fly in right by the track! it'z cozy

Yeah, heightwise he is about the same as all the other Andrettis but his dad bulked up a little bit a few years ago when he was married to a physical trainer (his second wife, not Marco's mother). Now Michael is married to a former playmate!! Mario in his younger days was a little bigger than Marco but not by much.

If you can get Mario in studio in June when the race comes around I think even the non racing fans would enjoy that. He is a great spokesman for the sport and very articulate. I could feed you some questions to ask that would prod him to tell some of his greatest stories!!
