Gotta go with my Royals again on this one. Definitely a better atmosphere than Wrigley having been to both. The baseball is crappy in both places and you don't have to deal with all the drunks at Wrigley when at KC.

I don't know... I went to a Las Vegas 51's game in 115 degree heat... The $7 beers were warm by the time you got back to your seat. Very little covered seating and the game was a blowout...

It's still a baseball game.

Re: Stadium Rankings

It was sad to see Chase Field here in Arizona ranked so low, but to be honest it's probably accurate. The stadium looks like a warehouse from the outside, and inside there isn't an inch that isn't covered by some sort of advertising. (When it was Bank One Ballpark we called it "Bank One Billboard") I also have to agree with the low baseball IQ. It's frustrating going to a D-Backs game with the score tied, two runners on and two outs and see all the fans eating their nachos, talking on their cell phones, leaving their seats to buy concessions, swimming (yes, swimming) etc. I still love watching my D-Backs play live, but the atmosphere is something to be desired.

I'm with you on this one. When I went, none of the seats up front were full, because everyone was sitting in the shade, which started about 20 rows back. On the other hand, it's VEGAS, and you can get liquor in your snowcones!

How do the Red Sox have better tradition than the Yankees? 26 world titles?

Again - it's more than just titles...

"Sweet Caroline"
Pesky's Pole
the bullpens nicknamed Williamsburg
Yawkey Way

Those are just some... I'm not saying that Fenway has more tradition than the Yankees, but it takes more than a winning history to give tradition, IMO.

Re: Stadium Rankings

Just was at Miller Park on Saturday. I think from an architectural and atmosphere standpoint the place is amazing. IMO, a great mix of old style baseball bark in a new era. The roof is an engineering wonder in itself. -food is alright, same as any other park I would say.

CrossCyed: was the roof open or closed when you went, just curious? I've been to about 15 games over the past 3 years and ironically all but 2 times the roof was closed.

I miss Bernie sliding into a Beer mug and balloons coming out like beer foam. Only in a beer guzzling town like Milwaukee!

Re: Stadium Rankings

Anybody else been to PacBell Park (or whatever it is called now) in San Francisco...that is rated way too low! Nothing beats a sunny afternoon in San Fran and watching a baseball game on the bay with the bridges in the background...great food, atmosphere...should be WAY higher.

I agree, I made it to a game at PacBell and thought it was a wonderful place to catch a game.

I also have to agree with the post about Sec Taylor (I'll never think of it as principal park). It is truly a great place to catch a game. Central Iowa is lucky to have this facility.

I went to a game a few years back. It is a great place to watch a game, but the neighborhood around the park was awful. Trash all over before the game even started.

Closed.

Maybe its cause the crowd was completely dead the entire time, but I was disappointed.

It's personally funny how you loved the roof - yes, the concept of it is great, but the actual engineering and execution of it is worse than poor (and that's a compliment). The engineer got sued heavily - it leaked, had problems closing sometimes, broke several times, etc. Just funny to me. :)

Being a Red Sox fan, i am partial to Fenway, so I don't understand why they are that low. The brewers have a really nice stadium and i also love Wrigley. I agree with Jacobs Field, though, i like that one.
