May NFL Power Rankings

Always amusing to see these come out so early. No shocker the top 3 are AFC teams. Interesting to see the Browns in the top 10.

Re: May NFL Power Rankings

I disagree with Green Bay at #10 and Seattle at #8. I think both are rated too high.

I too was suprised the Browns were so high.

I agree, yet who else do you put in their place. No one, notably in the NFC, has shown they can perform at that level.

Someone will this fall though. I wouldn't mind it being the Arizona Cardinals.

Someone will step up but that doesn't mean they deserve to be in the Top 10. I think Dallas is obviously #1 in the NFC, after that I think a lot of teams are just good to average (including the Giants...they caught lightning in a bottle in the playoffs).

I think a lot of it is pretty accurate. I would probably switch the Vikings and Seahawks, but the Packers are about in the right spot. They should be the 5th or 6th seed in the NFC Playoffs.

How is MN 12th? They were one win away from the playoffs last year and all they did this offseason was improve. Also, how are the packers 10th??? I'm not saying this because I'm a vikes fan, but because they lost favre and rodgers isn't proven yet.

If you're using GB's qb issues to bring them down, you also have to use MN's qb issues, as Jackson hasn't proven anything more than Rodgers has, IMO.
Cleveland lost out on the playoffs by tie breaker, with a record 2 games better than MN and did just as much to improve this offseason.
I have no problem with this ridiculously early assessment. I think everyone is within a few spots of where they should be, which makes it more right than wrong.

Re: May NFL Power Rankings

If the Vikings can come out of spring with a QB set and get him to develop ( I'm still hoping Tarvaris can become that go to guy), then I think they will be a legitamite playoff contender. I wonder how the Lions will do this year, considering the fact that Jon Kitna said it would be a dissapointment not to win 10 games.

Jackson was 8-4 last year as a starter but I do agree he isn't proven yet. But you can't say Rodgers is in the same spot as Jackson who's started 2 straight years.
