Hornacek wants to coach the Suns

I'm not sure what kind of shot he has at landing the job, but this article says he has thrown his hat in the ring.

Good for Jeff, but how do you give a contending franchise reigns to a guy with no coaching history?

I don't doubt Jeff's knowledge of the game or his ability to coach but I do agrea with isuarch, he hasn't been an assistant or head coach at any level. It would be very difficult to just hand over the team. But I guess in the NBA it seems to happen alot. Marc Jackson was a finalist the Knicks.

I think Avery Johnson was a first-timer. Greg Popovich, too.

Of course, they had been assistants first.
