Interesting Stat

I heard on the Heard (1700 am) that the of all the Colt's starters on both Offense and Defense, not one of them has started for another NFL team.

Compared to say the Cowboy's it makes you think about moving all the pieces around.

Re: Interesting Stat

Meaning many of their starters have been drafted directly by the Colts (which I believe they have) and the rest were back-ups picked up in free agency and trades.

Re: Interesting Stat

Right but they aren't going out and signing PacMan, TO, etc to fill the rolls. They are building from within and having a little chemistry

Re: Interesting Stat

They're not the first to do this (See also, The New England Patriots).

However, it's not like the Colts are void of talent. They don't need to go sign guys like TO, because they already have that kind of talent on their roster. That will likely change as a couple guys retire or depart...unless they continue doing quite well in the draft and finding diamonds in the ruff.

FYI...I'd like to give Pacman back.

Re: Interesting Stat

I agree they will probably have to venture out and fill some holes in the future. But after watching the Vikings go out and sign "big" free agents and trade their draft picks away it makes me wonder about my squad. But I guess it couldn't get any worse for the Vikings in the draft (Minus All Day AP of course).

Re: Interesting Stat

Unlike the Colts, the Vikes needed to do that in a few spots. Other than AP and a guy or two on defense, they really don't have many stud players. Regardless of team cohesiveness - you need to have a few of those guys to win most (but not all) of the time.

It's not like the Colts didn't try to do this when they signed Corey Simon and Anthony MacFarland.

Bill Polian

"They can keep giving us C's for draft grades, and I guess we'll just keep going out and winning the division."
