All without dribbling the dang ball and nothing is called.
Another thing that irritates me is illegal defense. Let them play D however the **** they want to. Originally Posted by ISUonthemove Ginobli will take a huge paycut. For how much I hate him I don't think there needs to be fines for trying to fool the refs.

For how much I hate him I don't think there needs to be fines for trying to fool the refs. Travelling and defensive three seconds tick me off when I watch the NBA. That and the fact that LeBron and Kobe get every single foul call they want and other players can't buy squat.

This has been a problem for a long time, and has infiltrated college and HS. And its applauded by coaches and teammates when someone pulls it off.
I dont think this will be something that players will be able to turn off overnight.

Your rant might get more sympathy if Kobe hadn't shot zero FTs in the Spurs game the other night...

It's never called because you have to be damn sure before you give a tech for flopping and at full speed it can be awfully hard to be sure.
IMHO, it would be better to encourage more charging calls when the defender is still on their feet. It's never seen in the NBA because by that point players are totally focused on falling backward at the slightest contact. If at lower levels you called charges on little gaurds that launch themselves at uncorrdinated bigs that don't know enough to fall, then it would clean itself up naturally.
I call 'em that way at lower levels and get coaches beside themselves in anger because "how is it a charge if the defender is still standing!!!" That's what players are being taught by parent/coaches because that is what is being rewarded. Remove the reward for the behavoir and no punishment will be necessary.

Now if they can get the Hawks to stop flopping...they are as bad as anyone.

Re: NBA to fine for flopping
Good! I absolutely dispise Many Ginobili and the rest of the Spurs. I think Greg Popovich must teach them to play like that because the whole team is a bunch of floppers. I can't stand watching them play. Everytime they get touched it's like someone punched them in the face.

It may technically be a technical, but a flop in view of a ref is always a no-call not a T.
I have seen a T called on a flop as many times as I've seen an Umpire call a Ball on a pitcher who doesn't pitch in 12 seconds, i.e. never.

They don't flop, they're just uncoordinated.
