So I was curious what you all though. When the Cubs win the World Series this year, does Lou stay around? He's made it clear that he is going to retire in Chicago for good, and he would have accomplished what he was set to do that hasn't been done in 100 years. I think it becomes the perfect way to say goodbye for good!

You assume an awful lot my friend. I am still of the opinion that the 2003 squad was a better mix of players not to mention 3 of the best pitchers in the game at the time. And we all know what happened there.
Dusty Baker may have been dumb but Lou had his moments in the NLDS last year as well...

I don't know what Lou is going to do but I know I'm going streaking. Then after that I will probably cry like a little baby. If they don't win it I will probably still cry like a baby.

The Cubs are a much better bet to win than the Hawkeyes...even if they are longshots (and currently they aren't).

He didn't say this year... he said WHEN...
I hope the win the WS this year, but you never know.
Now, to the question. WHEN Lou brings the World Championship to Chi-town, he will stay one more year to travel around the country so that Cubs fans in every visiting ball park can see them the year after.

The problem is...
The AL will win the All Star game and have home field advantage which means trouble for the Cubs (20-26 on the road) should they get to the Main Event.
