Top 100 Venues
ESPN Page 2 - Caple: America's 100 most important sports venues
A list of some great venues in sports.
Just where everyone has been, I have quite a few more to visit, but did get 14 of the top 50 so far.

Re: Top 100 Venues
I've been to 11 on the entire list. Guess I've got work to do. I've at least driven past several others.

Re: Top 100 Venues
How many more minutes until a Cub fan complains that Wrigley is not in the top 5?!?! Over/Under is set at 2 1/2

Re: Top 100 Venues
Here are the ones I've either been inside or at least seen from the outside (yes, I'm counting the ones I've seen on the outside even if only from a distance, because it's still a cool experience just to be able to see it)...
1. Yankee Stadium
2. Camden Yards
9. Rose Bowl (outside)
13. Wrigley Field
15. U.S. Olympic Training Center
18. Notre Dame Stadium (outside)
27. Michigan Stadium (outside)
29. Shea Stadium (outside from a distance)
30. Metrodome
36. Pro Football Hall of Fame
38. The Spectrum (outside)
40. Dodger Stadium
41. Mall of America (I find it funny that this is on the list)
47. Busch Stadium (the old one)
48. Arthur Ashe Stadium (outside from a distance)
51. Rosenblatt Stadium (outside)
58. Cameron Indoor Stadium
76. AT&T Park (outside)

Interesting list...been to 4 of top 5 and 30 of the full 100.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

36. Pro Football Hall of Fame
41. Mall of America - ?????
47. Busch Stadium
51. Rosenblatt Stadium
53. Dodgertown - Shame they are leaving
57. TPC Sawgrass - only missed one TPC from 1981 to 1999, played it many times
58. Cameron Indoor Stadium - for a camp, not a game
65. Raymond James Stadium - had a beer on the pirate ship
74. Field of Dreams
77. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium - my home town
88. Memorial Stadium (Lincoln)
92. Midway Stadium - visiting team
96. Neyland Stadium - nuts
I was hoping to get to 1. Yankee Stadium before it closed but plans fell through.
Plans in the near future for
14. Churchill Downs
and
18. Notre Dame Stadium
There are others I have been 'to' but not in so I didn't count them. The rest will just have to go on the list... Didn't count Ceasers since I haven't been to an event there.

I guess I miscounted 14 in the top 50. There was a tie for 27 and then Shea was listed at 28. I think that should have been 29.

Re: Top 100 Venues
I stopped reading when I saw Yankee Stadium at the top of the list and Wrigley Field at No. 13.
Lists are like statistics.
