Interesting. We discredit such historical logic when Hawk fans use it against us.
I like history and stats, The Yankees have won 4 World Series in my lifetime. Lets go with that. It is pretty fun watching your team win a World Series. I'm sure Cubs fans would like to experience it. The last time the Yankees didn't go to the playoffs, I was 11, it was a pretty good run.
I do feel like a Hawk fan right now on this board. A thread was started to taunt and enjoy in another team not making the playoffs and I am the only defending them.

I think the Dodgers, with Manny, would handle the Yankees pretty easily in a best of 3-5-7-9-11, whatever you want. The Yankees pitching is brutal right now...

Hank Steinbrenner thinks the Dodgers are not as qualified as the Yanks third/fourth place team from number of winms standpoint.
As much as I hate the Yankees and the Steinbrenner family, Hank kind of does have a point. The Yankees as a 3rd place team in the AL East would have a 4 game lead in the NL West.

Though I don't think it is an argument you can make. If they Yanks were in the NL West they would have had a different lineup since they wouldn't have been able to use the DH. You would have to think that could easily erase that 3 game lead they would have by comparing these records.
