And good lord, if the Royals could keep that team ERA for an entire season

I realize it isn't by much, but to say that's the Dodgers starters aren't also getting the job done is kinda hypocrisy. ESPN - MLB Baseball Team Statistics - Major League Baseball
Thankfully to the Yankees they can at least claim a world series title in the past 99 years...a little over 1/4 of 'em to be exact but that's not important in this series. I'm more than happy with them being 4th in the AL winning % wise after pulling starting pitchers outta the crowd.

Shouldn't affect the staff - but it obviously does. Most guys were just getting throws in, particularly when you see the bullpen by committee the last few days.
That being said. I agree with AnkenyCy24. Cub fans should know better than to think anything is a given.

When the playoffs roll around, nothing is a given, which is how in 1997, 2002, 2003, and 2004 wildcard teams won it all. I think the reason for that is how they've had to play to get in generally (the BoSox wrapped it up last week) is harder than other teams have had to play. I'll personally be interested in seeing how the Angels respond to playing meaningful games since they haven't played one since freaking July. -

Maybe - but getting swept by Az last year still has me a little scarred.
I don't pay attention much to baseball outside the NL Central. Just took a look yesterday at the AL teams and noticed that about the Angels. Won the division by 20 games?!?!. Good Lord.
Custer had a better run than the AL West this year.

Re: Dodgers vs Cubbies
Winning game 1 is going to be key for this team to get the monkey off the back from last year
