Favre story false according to ESPN
A small battle brewing between ESPN and Jay Glazer (this is not the first time media questions Glazer's 'truthiness'). Why didn't ESPN report the Favre-Lions story? - The Huddle - USATODAY.com -
Re: Favre story false according to ESPN
I hope this is correct (that the story is false). I want to continue liking and rooting for Favre.

He was on Rome and Dan Patrick saying he was a million percent sure.

The Lions haven't denied it, even when asked. Favre is tied to the hip with ESPN and Glazer called this move from ESPN... I still beleive Glazer here...

Sounds like he got what he wanted. A Bunch of time on radio shows and exposure to himself. Jay Glazer likes Jay Glazer.

I'm a packers fan and a Favre fan, but I believe Glazer.

perhaps goes a little deeper.
Glazer was tied to the hip with the Packer organization during the spring fallout with Favre.
The Glazer has had a running feud with the Favre clan.

Re: Favre story false according to ESPN
If anything, it was Favre and ESPN who were attatched at the hip. If Favre farted, ESPN was on it. They devoted as much time to him over the summer as they're devoting to the soap opera thats going on in Dallas right now. At one point, they had 3 reporters stationed in Green Bay. Rachel Nicholls followed him out of Lambeau the day he left. ESPN was the outlet that Favre and his agent used whenever they had somthing that they felt was newsworthy, and the 4-letter ate it up and the forced it down Americas throat. How ****** off do you think the suits at the WWL were when Glazer beat them on Favre going to the Jets?
ESPN controls the sports news agenda, but that isn't something that isn't widely known all ready. But NOT reporting this, it may as well have not even happened. It was only after Favre had his weekly presser and admitted talking to Millen that ESPN even acknowledged it, and they're getting skewered for it.

Re: Favre story false according to ESPN
I think Favre may have helped the other team or teams, but I also don't think he did as much as he has been accused of. Glazer likes to be part of the story, he is a sensationalist. That being said, they might have just renamed it FSPN for the summer, what with how close they were.

Re: Favre story false according to ESPN
I think he did it after watching the Green Bay-Minnesota game He realized that Green Bay isn't going to 'pack' it in because he isn't there. If they make the playoffs without him, and the Jets don't, it will look like McCarthy and Thompson made the right decision. Rodgers has already shown he can play, and play hurt as well.

I will not believe an ESPN story until it's proven.

Re: Favre story false according to ESPN
ESPN started backing off the "false" story last night and moving more towards the "not a big deal" angle

Re: Favre story false according to ESPN
Dan Patrick is really ripping ESPN's handling of this. He said at first ESPN sent out an internal memo saying not even to talk about it, now they are just taking the "it's not a big deal" angle. So basically Packer fans, it did happen...
