Sounds like they might have a shot at getting off if they can convince the powers that be that their actions were designed to make weight and not mask another substance.

That's kinda weak though. I mean, make weight for what? These guys aren't wrestling!

Kinda ticks me off because these guys are great players. You can't lose your MLB and DTs and hope to win games in the NFL.

I figured the season would be difficult when E.J. Henderson got hurt. I knew it would be when Brad Childress didn't get fired.

I figured the season would be a dissapointment when people were predicting a team that didn't make the playoffs the year before to win the Superbowl this year......

I would've been happy with an NFC North title! I mean did Peter King really NEED to have them go all the way! I HATE Peter King and SI! It's all an elaborate jinx!

Its actually a good reason, alot of the players indicted on these charges were guys that have trouble keeping their weight down. Many have a weight clause in their contracts they adhere to or they get fined. The NFL needs to find a way to walk this thin line as they dont want people using steroids, however the players still need alternate ways to lose weight.

Try being a fan of the Cyclones, Chiefs, Cubs, and Bulls. Besides the Cubs regular season I haven't had too much positive to cheer about with any of my teams lately.

Yeah but it wasn't all that long ago that the Bulls were THE team, and the Chiefs had some very nice years recently as well.

Sorry about the Cubs though; although I think it's better for baseball that there is a team with a "curse" and such a dry spell. It makes up for better ratings when/if they finally do win one.

Berrian has been solid, and at times spectacular, since his injury has mended. And Rice is solid as well, its just that he's been injured. He'll be a pretty good possession receiver, if he can stay uninjured. And Bobby Wade is a solid slot receiver, its just that he can't play the slot all the time with the injuries in front of him.

I don't think the wide receivers are as bad as people make them out to be. The big elephant in the closet for the Vikings is the Offensive Line. They're supposed to be good 'cause they've got perennial pro-bowlers like Hutchinson and Birk, plus McKinnie and Kleinsasser. But they've pretty much sucked ars all year long, especially in pass protection, and it seems like no one wants to talk about it.

    If true, THIS SUCKS!!!!

It might be time for me to abandon the NFL, like I (and almost any other sane sports fan) did the NBA several years ago.

I take the NBA for what it's worth... It's kinda like professional wrestling.

You've got freakish athletes who generally play hard when they're on national TV, playing against a former team, or are in the playoffs. Otherwise, their effort can be questionable.

I actually think the NBA product would improve if there were less games. Problem is that owners would never go for that..

I agree. There is A LOT of money being spent there and they should be blocking and pass protecting as well as any team in the league. If not someone needs cut.

At least the Cubs have made the playoffs as of late and most current Cubs fans really shouldnt care about 100 years as they havent been around. I get the Clones, Vikings and Orioles and the last time the Orioles won I was barely old enough to remember and not really a fan yet. Plus we have been 4th or 5th 10 out of 11 years in a row I think, with no appearance of changing that.

The NFL gives a list of acceptable supplements at the beginning of the season, you can choose to venture off that list but it is at your own risk. If the basis of an appeal is based on the fact that Bumentide (sp?) wasn't advertised on the label, I doubt they'll get off.
The players caught up in this are apparently planning on suing the company since they would lose their game checks as well as possibly effect aspects of their incentive based contracts. The problem with the substance is that it can mask the use of certain steroids.

If it is anything like the NCAA they provide everything NOT to take, by name as well.

Also, if this was known to be a masking agent I can guarantee you that word spread fast and everyone knew about it...
