Adrian Peterson's Speed?

Just curious, but it appears to me that Adrian hasn't had the same acceleration and burst this year that he had as a rookie. He's simply not running away from people. At least, since he was injured early in the season. Is that just my imagination, or faster guys are chasing him, or taking better angles, or what?

He looked fine to me on that scamper from the 28 yard line to score the go-ahead touchdown Sunday.

Maybe I'm wrong, but Adrian Peterson has never struck me as someone who was going to be legendary in the NFL. I think he will be okay, but he seems like someone who will fade out of mind.

Yeah, but Woodson caught him once on the sideline. And there was a time the week before, too, when some no-name guy caught him on a breakaway, and I though, "Does that guy run a 4.3 or something?!!"

If he stays healthy, he's going to be ssssscccccaaaarrrrrryyyyyy good, especially if Chester Taylor sticks around and he has a very good backup so he doesn't have to take on the whole load.

He doesn't have to be crazy fast though. He hits like a train and it's next to impossible to take him down with one guy. He might not be insanely fast, but he's still got burners and an uncanny ability of turning nothing into something, even though sometimes he does try too hard.

What he said. Peterson should be at least as good as Earl Campbell, who hasn't exactly "faded out of mind".

I think he's been a little dinged up so far this season. Defenses are a little more aware of his home run potential this year after the Chicago and SD games last year. I think the safeties might be preparing to take better angles, i.e. give up the first down but not the TD. Also McKinnie was out for the first four games. The O-line seems to be getting back into a rhythm.

He seems to be finding his groove again though.

He probably said the same think when Randy Moss was jumping over, under, around and running through Packers corners.

They showed a thing on ESPN that showed safeties are playing 3-5 yards deeper just so it's harder for him to break loose, even though someone (I don't remember who it was) said they better pray he isn't one-on-one with a safety or that safety is screwed because he'll either truck 'em or juke 'em outta their shoes.

He reminders me of Shawn Alexander. Had some good seasons and looked like a great back but do you think anyone other then a seahawk fan will even remember who he is in 10 years? That statement might be a little extreme but I just don't think he will have a lasting memory on to many people.

How many times did Alexander set the NFL's rushing record? Let alone as a rookie? Or avwraged 6+ypc? Peterson isn't just good, he's an order of magnitude above Alexander.

Now, as long as Childress doesn't mess it up...

Trust a Bears fan to contribute something er,...positive.

Nice comments about the safeties--thanks, I appreciate that.

Just for the record, I don't think Aaron Rodgers is going to be anyone that memorable either and my second fav team is the Seahawks and I already tore on their former star RB.

I believe once in the seahawk superbowl year.
