Fantasy Problem

So, I am going to admit it, I made a mistake. Now I am looking for a remedy.

I am in a Yahoo fantasy league (10 teams) with some friends and I am in the thick of a playoff chase. I am in 3rd place with 3 more weeks to go and multiple teams fighting for 3rd and 4th. I was trying to add a WR because Randel El just wasn't doing anything. I found my WR that I wanted and I accidentally select Thomas Jones to drop instead. I know, stupid move. Is there any way that I can get him back or do I need to just wait for him to clear waivers.

Just some background, I picked up Ryan Grant after the mistake and my other RBs are Petersen and Ronnie Brown. Should I even worry about picking him up?

Also I am going to brag on my team, I have Steve smith and boldin as well as Dallas clark. I am set-up to have a good team if this mistake doesn't come back to kill me.

Who was the WR you were going to pick up? Thomas Jones will put up some good numbers and would be a good play depending on the opponent

You could just inform the league and hope that they all agree to not claim him and let you pick him back up.

It's hard to say whether I'd want Jones or Grant for the rest of the season. Grant had a breakout performance so we'll just see. It's really a judgement call on your part if you want to try to get Jones back.

Re: Fantasy Problem

I was trying to pick up Johnnie Lee Higgins because he gets quite a few points for returns, which are big in my league.

Re: Fantasy Problem

he is a top 5rb so far in fantasy terms. even if you don't play him again, pick him up so an opponent cannot.

sometimes you have to be a hoarder.

and how the hell was grant still available in a 10 team format? can i join your league?

I have made the 3rd fewest moves in my 12 team league, and I am sitting in first. Should be a 2 game lead after tonight.

I have made some "handcuff" pick ups in my league. I picked up Pittman (STL) last week for him to ride the pine on my team, just so no one else could have him.

Re: Fantasy Problem

Grant has only put up 97 points which is about half of what Jones has put up. I was looking this morning while waiting for class and I only have 7 of my original players that I drafted on my team.

Re: Fantasy Problem

We don't do team defense in our league. We have 7 defensive players. Those usually are a dime a dozen, and change on a weekly basis. With that in mind I have only made 18 fantasy moves all season.

I made the exact same mistake with Chris Johnson (thought I was unloading Brad Johnson). I had to wait out the waiver and then had him snatched up by someone else. Now when I look back it seems like not that big of a loss.

This past weekend was brutal as far as leaving points on the bench....Welker (25), Addai (36), Chad Greenway (18), Mason (16), just to name a few, while the likes of Santana Moss and Antonio Gates had dismal performances. And yet it looks like I may still pull this one out.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Re: Fantasy Problem

Do you only get 1 point for tackles?? 18 seems little for greenway. he had 46 in my league.

Re: Fantasy Problem

fantasy leagues with waivers are LAME!

You have to love the guys in your league who don't really pay attention, are on top of the waiver list and wait til tuesday night to pick up the player that had the breakout game who you tried to claim sunday at 1 pm. Sounds fair, right?

You can't polish a turd.

It is fair. That's the system.

uhhh...no. Only if your commissioner chooses that system. They can choose waivers or not. And just because that's an option doesn't necessarily mean it's fair.
