Ben Roethlisberger

I'm not a Steelers hater, but watching him just makes my eyes bleed. With a defense like they have they should just destroy teams, but their offense is just anemic. I'm not talking specifically about the game today either, it's been like this all season. Just me?

I personally think the Roehlisberger is a very good QB. His offensive line has been just that, offensive for most of the year, so he is left to make plays on the move. They have been pretty banged up all year as well

I'm very biased, but yeah today it not looked good at all. Then again both the Steelers and Cowboys O has been terrible.

Both QBs have been terrible. Difference is Romo has turned it over more than Ben. To be fair, both teams have very good defenses -- Pittsburgh a great one.

I've always been of the opinion that Ben Roethlisberger has been overrated since he came into the league. He was a game manager when they won the Super Bowl. And that is okay; they won. But that doesn't make him among the elite.

This is funny...a guy who has won a super bowl and has one of the best win percentages as a qb in the league. Steeler football is all about running the ball, controling the clock, and playing dominant D! Big Ben does what he has to do to win and thats all you can ask for. If you ask me he has done a damn good job of doing what he has to do to win, the numbers dont lie. Big Ben could QB my team anyday...he is a warrior and plays injured!

I have to LOL. Overrated? How many Pro Bowls has be played in? One replacement when Palmer couldn't play. And only has won more games in his 1st 4 years than any QB ever, but isn't good enough to sniff the Pro Bowl, which is the only "rating" that takes place in the NFL.

He isn't a factory QB that takes a 3-5 step drop and dinks it to protect his QB rating. He's not a game manager in the least, never has been. No CLUE where that comes from. He throws down field more than anyone but Peyton Manning the past 4 years. That while getting ZERO time to throw. Watch the Pro Bowl QB's like Brady/Manning/Palmer/Brees/Rivers- the guys the media love. They get all day to throw it. Ben makes his time by himself.

He holds it too long (for some) a lot, but that's because he's not a game manager. He has more passes for 30+ yards than all but Brady/Manning since he's been in the league. That's by NOT dinking/dumping/managing. That's how you lose titles in the NFL, not win them. "Stop drop and throw" loses you far more games than you win. If you either have a great OL (Manning/Brady/Manning) or a guy that buys time in the pocket to throw downfield (Ben/McNabb) -that's how you make the SB.

There are about 26-27 teams in the League that can't win the SB (no chance!) because they run a horizontal (West Coast) offense. That doesn't work anymore. The teams that throw downfield WIN championships in this era. Ben played like **** in the SB, for sure. But the few times he connected were deep balls -and Randal El's throw. Get rid of it quick and play horizontal ball and you'll be home by January watching the Playoffs on TV.

Teams with defenses like the Steelers can only be beaten by teams that throw downfield -I.E. -the Cowboys, Colts, Giants, Eagles/Pats. The Giants may be looking at a little trouble since they lost their best deep threat, but they're still the team to beat.
