ESPN - NFL laying off 10 percent of headquarters staff

Completely surprising. The TV contracts are done way ahead of time - so that money is consistent. I have not followed ticket sales - but I have not seen a ton of stadiums that were empty - except for some horrid teams and those are empty in a good economy.

I would guess peripheral things such as merchandising and licensing are taking a hit. Also, the NFL gets significant revenue from corporate sponsorships and advertising, which are likely taking a big hit as well
