    Tavaris Jackson: Much Improved?

Granted, I didn't get to see all of the Vikings' game yesterday - but I saw a fair amount of it.

Looked like he did a fine job and is almost a different guy. Saw some great passes and some really nice runs. Only big mistake I saw him make was the fumble on the sack - a bit of a fluky deal.

Perhaps getting some extended bench time to observe did the kid some good.

The sad thing is, there are a lot of times when a kid like that wouldn't ever get another shot. Glad he seems to be making the most of it.

He's definitely looking better. The last two games he's looked MUCH better than Ferrotte did at any point this season. If the rest of the team (coughAPcough) starts hanging onto the ball, than I like their chances in the post season, with the way Jackson has been playing.

I still think he holds on to the ball to long and needs to slide if he is going to take off running.

If Ferrotte didn't have two broken bones in his back I would take him over T-Jack at this time. I think the Vikings need to look somewhere else for a Franchise QB this off season.

I thought he was always a better option then Ferrotte but with the way he is playing now I have hope for the playoffs. I think he deserves a shot at the job in the offseason but bring in some competition (i.e. draft). At times he does get a little flustered but is making better decisions with the exception of sliding. Some of the throws he has made have been outstanding.

It appears that Vikes fans need to worry about AP holding on to the football. Jackson appears to be a little better. I dont think I would jump on TJ bandwagon yet. Let the year play out and see how it goes. I just think as an overall player he is a little inconsistant. We will see how it goes though.

    Re: Tavaris Jackson: Much Improved?

If we put all our stock in Jackson over the offseason like we did last offseason we are screwed. There are many a backup QB out there that are 3x better than Tavaris, Rosenfels included.

    Re: Tavaris Jackson: Much Improved?

Tarvaris Jackson was not ready to be a starter last year. It's hard to say how he would have done earlier this season if he hadn't been injured in the preseason. The time on the bench did seem to do him some good.
According to Childress, Tarvaris wasn't benched due to poor play but due to a lack of confidence and a quarterback can't be second guessing himself.
Speaking of Childress, he really needs to spend some time working with Adrian Peterson on holding onto the ball.
