If you feel that way, then my guess is you support having no divisions and having 16 teams in each league play in one big division.
I actually would support this. I want to see the best teams in the playoffs. I'm a Chiefs fan so I follow the AFC West more than anything and that is an abysmal division that didn't deserve to have any teams get in over the Pats.
Yesterday was a great sports day. Patriots and Broncos out of the playoffs, Dallas and Denver blown out, Iowa State and Creighton basketball both win. Doesn't get much better than that.
Hypothetically, what happens if Brady cannot play again next year, and Cassel takes the Pats to a division crown and/or maybe a playoff win or two. Does Brady get his job back? I mean, at what point do you say "Thanks Tom, but we've already got our guy"? Normally you say that you can't lose your job to injury, but two years off is a different story.
It pains me to say it, but personally I think that Belichizik's coaching might have more to do with the success of Patriot QB's, than the talent level of individual player. Put Cassel on a team like Chicago, Minnesota, or Tampa Bay, and I don't think he has the same success. Those aren't bad teams, just not the same situation as New England.
