It's the best baseball area in America. More major leaguers, more college players, more minor leaguers from the Bay area than anywhere... The Trop is a dump and in a crappy area, put a good product in a decent stadium by the water and they will fill it...

You have Ozzie Guillen as your manager. White sox fans should shut their mouths.

Agree. Tons of MLB talent comes from that area.

Haha....534 winning percentage, .750 in the playoffs, a World Title and two AL Central Championships.

    He's doing something right.

    1. Very injury-prone. Averaged 89 games/yr over the past 4 years.

    2. Poor defensively. Only 19 games in the field last year.

    3. Subtract his contract-push last year and he hasn't been anything special. Averaged .273 with 12 hr/yr prior to last year.

Well, you can take your manager and I'll take mine. I love Lou as much as the next guy, and I know both guys have a lot of respect for each other. Guillen put together one of the best runs in baseball history in 2005, and if the Cubs ever had someone do that, they'd think he was pretty good too.

Being able to handle a pretty tough media has a lot to do with success in a big market, too. One of them is good at it. Can you guess which one?

You think Ozzie is good at handling the media?

I think he's brilliant at handling the media. He can take the criticism. When discussing the White Sox, the media is focused on him rather than the players. He takes the pressure off of them and puts it on himself. A manager like Ozzie Guillen would do Milton Bradley wonders because the media focus would be on Ozzie's antics rather than Milton's. It amazes me that the majority haven't figured out that there is a method to Ozzie's madness.

I fully admit that the only times I have seen Ozzie press conferences is when they are put on ESPN because he being a complete jack***, but I don't think many people would describe him as being "good" at it.

3 years, $30 million. For a guy who has only played more than 100 games in a season once in his entire career when he wasn't a DH.

    Ouch. Hopefully it pays off.

That's because they've yet to figure out that there is a method to his madness.

They know his method. **** him off and get a good sound byte for the rest of the day.

Ever heard this? This is a total disrespect for public media. Ozzie has no respect for anyone and that's why nobody outside of southside trash respects him.
