not with the Bears offensive line... Trade for Tom Brady. If they franchise Cassell they will HAVE to trade him...

Would be a bad move for both parties. Which means, the Bears will do everything they can to get him.

The Bears need a quarterback?

Re: Columnist - Kurt Warner Should be on Bears Shopping List
Bears need to go young, Warner is only a 1 or 2 year solution and the Bears at the moment aren't built to win it all next year.

Warner is a fair weather player, perfect for a team like Arizona...not the Bears.

A healthy Orton was just fine with me this year. He did an excellent job (except for a couple of games) with that O-line and that receiving group.
For their expectations, I thought the offense outperformed this year while the D underperformed.

I don't care if Orton is the starting QB next year, I just some competition during training camp. Sign a guy like Jeff Garcia and let them battle it out. If Orton is the better QB then let him start. If Garcia is the better QB then let him start. I just don't want Lovie to hand him the starting QB position. He was very average last year and if it were Rex playing, everyone would want to run him out of town.

Why would Warner leave Zona where he has Boldin, Fitzgerald, and Breaston to come to Chicago with Lloyd, Booker, and Hester?

All indications are that New England is going to keep both Brady and Cassell. With Brady a question mark for the start of the 09 season, they can't afford not to keep both.
Honestly, the Bears have a ton of other work to do before QB in my opinion. Offensive Line, receivers, and d-line all underperformed this year.
And really, did Orton play that badly?

And really, did Orton play that badly? Agreed. Orton takes way too much of the blame due to the past QB history.

I also agree that Orton isn't the problem but I also think Rex has gotten a bad rap due to the bad offensive line. The line needs to be fixed first, then they need a reliable receiver, THEN maybe upgrade the QB position... BUT, if Brady is floated out there, you have to take a look...
