Book proposal implicates McGwire
Report: Brother says Mark McGwire used steroids - ESPN
Do you think there is any substance to what McGwire's brother is saying, or is he just looking to cash in off his brother's name?

Yeah, I would bet there is. What a DBag for a brother.

Re: Book proposal implicates McGwire
McGwire and roids? Gee there is a new one. I have a hard time believing he didn't do them considering he played with the Canseco brothers who are the poster boys for roid use and have said he took them with them. Now this plus the who Andro use that he admitted to. Sure seems like a lot of things that point more to him likely doing roids than didn't.

This isn't even a debate. He used...no question about it.

Re: Book proposal implicates McGwire
I'm sure there's truth to it...the thing I find funny is his brother saying that he's doing this out of love for his brother (despite the fact that they don't talk)...$$$$.

Wow. I don't care about the steriods, everybody pretty much assumes he used. But for your brother to sell you out? That's pretty low. Bros before Prose! -

My sentiments exactly; I will always believe he used roids and I didn't need his low-down bro to come out of the closet to "Nark on Mark"...
For that I consider his actions more despicable than his brother using roids.

Re: Book proposal implicates McGwire
All this stuff comes out just after hall of fame voting. I don't really understand the bashing of McGwire over steroids. If I recall correctly, they weren't banned when he played and he admitted to using Andro. He has never said he didn't use steroids, just refuses to talk about it. Can't say I really blame him. If I had done something wrong at work that nobody could prove and I was asked to go in front of Congress and talk about it, I would plead the 5th too. I'm sure he knows everybody is aware he used and he has nothing to gain by making the talk show circuit to drone on about it and suffer even more embarassment. I suppose if he came out and formally admitted it, he might get more support for the HOF, but that didn't work for Pete. Actually, it looks like McGwire doesn't really care about the HOF. At least he didn't point at the congressmen and flat out deny he used like Palmiero. And Sammy all of a sudden couldn't speak English.

The 90s/early 00s should be forgotten generation for power hitters, anybody that put up big numbers was using.

Uh, the use or possession of steroids, without a valid prescription, has been illegal in the United States since 1990. For you, for me, for Mark McGwire.
