Barnstormers games are hands down the best bang-for-the buck ticket in central Iowa. I have tickets approximately at the 35 yard line, 7 rows up. My season ticket is $168, there are 8 home games. Wells Fargo arena is full for most of the games, and we tailgate as hard prior to those games as we do before Cyclone games.
There is much better talent on the way this year, and they have resigned a lot of local favorites like Colo's own Joe Brannen and Tim Dodge. Tanner Varner has been resigned as well after the AFL "paused" for this season. He was with the Utah Blaze. The only guy who has not returned as far as I know was Daniel McLemore who was really a big part of the fun last year.

I went to two games last year and had a blast. It was a pretty good value as far as ticket prices, and there was some solid tailgating going on. It is a great way to get your football fix while waiting for fall to come around.
As others have mentioned, it is a blast and becomes even more fun after a few games when you get familiar with some of the players. Although we tailgated in the parking lot one game, most of the time we did it pretty low key (e.g...hit a bar on Court) as the fluids keep flowing during the game.
I highly recommend getting season tix. For those on a tight budget, I believe they have season ticket packages as low as $80.
