Since it was on the MLB network and I have dish network, no I didn't. But I listened to it and it was a great ending!!
That was Awesome. Go USA!
Are people really into this?
Absolutely, it's BASEBALL!!
I have been really impressed with the quality on MLB.tv, almost HD quality on your PC...
Because it's not the best players. Because it's spring training and the players aren't really ready. Because the manager is more worried about keeping people healthy and making playing time for players (Rollins for half a game and Jeter half a game)? Because a double elimination tournament in baseball means absolutely nothing.
Honestly, I don't personally know a single person who really cares about this. I am rooting for the US, but I'm not emotionally attached to it at all. I'm glad that the players really care about it. Why else would they agree to do it? I do really respect those who agreed to participate. It's probably a pretty good feeling to wear USA across the chest.
I'll betcha more players are ready than you think. They don't just sit on the couch in the offseason with a bag of chips and do nothing all day (unless your name is CC Sabathia).
I care. I love watching these games. The only time we get to see the absolute best players play is during the All-Star break. I may not be emotionally attached, but I still love watching baseball all the same.
Here is a really touching story about an military vet back from the middle east that got to meet with the team after their victory last night.

The dog pile at the end was awesome. It was something to see a Red Sox and Yankee tackling a Met with total jubilation on their faces. I am typing this with tears in my eyes after reading the Yahoo article.
I really think part of the reason people don't seem to care is because thats what the media is telling us... You can say it's not the best players but it's pretty darn close. The average fan and reporter may think that Joe Nathan is SOOO much better than a guy like Matt Thornton but a scout or insider will tell you that they are pretty close... There are some minor kinks in the format and what not, but it's damn good baseball.
great game watched from the 5th inning on...love the WBC
