1 year deal for league minimum $400K. As a mets fan I love the deal. Gives them a legit 4th outfielder. Upgrade from Tatis and Pagan who were the current backups. Plus with Church being an injury risk and Murphy being young he can platoon. Be a spot DH and maybe get some time at 1B to help give Delgado a break.
Pretty good price, can't really lose all that much. I'm really surprised he isn't in the AL, he's crazy if he thinks he can play everyday in the outfield.
At first, I wasn't wild about this move, but it makes sense. If he doesn't pan out, or becomes a cancer in the clubhouse, the Mets really haven't lost much. He might hit 20 HR off the bench and in spot starts, and I'd hate to face him in the late innings as a PH, too.
