Des Moines Native in the Master's this Week
Jack Newman from Des Moines will be playing in the Master's this year. He is a Junior at Michigan State. I know his sister, they all got to make the trip down there with him. That would be awesome to just walk around that course.
Pretty sure I would shank it into the crowd and kill someone on the first tee.

That is probably where my first shot, and probably my second as well, would go.
How come this guy didn't come to Iowa State? ? ? ?

ISU doesnt have the best golf coach/program. MSU has a quality program and they might have given him a nice scholarship

He shot 3 under in the Masters par3 challenge

Show-offs.
I'm quite certain I wouldn't even make contact on my first swing.
Best of luck to Jack. Him and Zach in a Sunday pairing? :mask:

I just flipped the TV on for a second and they were showing the leader board. It was cool to see him up there right under Tim Clark. He must have played some good golf. I hope he can make the cut.

I really don't understand the love affair people have with people from Iowa. I guess it's nice on the surface that they're from Iowa but seriously, do you think they're really helping out our state in some way?

I just wish the local kid well.
There was alot of pub for Iowa when Zach won the Masters. I doubt it drove economic development or tourism or anything. But it was nice to hear.

People from Iowa need to stick together, support, and take pride in each other.
Believe me..... nobody else does or will.
I guess if you don't feel any pride for where you come from, you are entitled to your own feelings. It can't be forced.

It's a little thing called "pride." Ever heard of it?
Re: Des Moines Native in the Master's this Week
Not a great start for Jack so far.
4 over through 13. Alone in 87th. A few birdies could really change that fast. Even par is 40th right now.
Zach is tied for 10th though 9. 3 off the leader.
What's the cut line?

Cut line is 44 lowest scores plus ties. Plus anyone within 10 strokes of the leader at the end of tomorrow.
