Let me say I wish nothing but the best for Sage and hope he is successful with the Vikings, but I've been a Vikings fan for 40 years and in the last 20 years the Vikings D has made every opposing QB look like a hall of famer.

our D backs have been very light yes...i like our D line though, there crazy good.

Sage doesn't have to be great for this team to win. Just limit mistakes and manage the game and he will be fine.

The vikings have Berrian as the deep threat and Wade as the slot/3rd guy. Both are serviceable in those roles. They also have Chester Taylor as the 3rd down guy out of the backfield. What they are missing is what is needed for the offense to click - a solid #2/possession receiver. Hopefully they can find this in the draft even if they go OL on the top pick.

They had no plans to make a real push to get QB Jay Cutler, who was traded to the Bears on Thursday, because some members of the Vikings' organization viewed him as a selfish player, especially considering his recent demands to be traded and feud with head coach Josh McDaniels. The Vikings have had their share of quarterbacks who were considered to be me-first players, such as Jeff George and Daunte Culpepper, and apparently had no plans of repeating the same mistake.

Sidney Rice started playing better last year as our 2nd WR, but he seems to get hurt a lot. I hope Sage can grab the QB spot right away, as I have less then full confidence in TJ. Our defense should be better with getting EJ Henderson back at Middle LB.

Looks like the Vikings' spin machine/marketing team was kicked into high gear with this statement. What if the price to get Cutler would have been only Jackson, I bet they'd have been singing a different tune about his "selfishness." Easy to say this stuff after you don't get a guy.
