    ESPNOTL

    OTL: Dream On A Shelf

    By Amy K. Nelson

Watch this story Sunday on "Outside the Lines" at a special time, 8 a.m. ET, on ESPN.

ALMDALE, Calif. -- The summer night Bill Harrington realized he had become a pariah here in his hometown, he was 85 miles down the road, watching one of the most dazzling prospects scouts could recall, who also happened to be his son.

I thought this was an article about raising the minimum wage.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

I just read this story, hadn't heard about it before. Crazy stuff, guy gets drafted 5 different times and never signs.

When I saw the thread title I guessed it was about Michael Vick.

What an idiot. Most kids who don't sign in the draft at least take a schollie offer to go to college so they have some leverage. I can understand him getting burned once, but the second time, he was still getting over a million dollar offer, and he still walked. For a kid who has no money, it seems like the dumbest thing he could do.

Re: Millions to 11.50 an hour

The kid was 18 and probably didnt even have 1000 bucks in his bank account...he had no idea what was going on. They should have done some research on who they were hiring...

also, since he hired an agent, he probably couldnt play college ball...even if he wanted to at that point. If im not mistaken, some no. 1 draft pick (or top 5 atleast), did the same thing a few years back where they went and played independent ball instead of signing???
