My brother makes the same argument. He TOO is a Dodger fan.

I think all but a couple Dodger fans realize that the guy cheated and did it knowingly. Which is sad, b/c he didn't need to, he was already a great player. Same as Bonds. Bonds was already a great player. Although steroids took Bonds from a Great player to a LEGEND.

Have I denied anything factual? I don't follow. You should be sad though, being a chubs fan and all. I'm happy to say I was alive and remember fondly the Dodgers last world series title.

Well, I didn't bring Manny into this thread. I like stringing you cubbies along too. I was pretty ****** at Manny at first but I honestly don't care now, especially seeing how they are performing without him so far. I know you cubbies usually don't have much to talk about with your own team after Memorial Day so I understand wanting to divert your attention to other's fortunes/misfortunes.

I don't think he will miss a start, it will just be pushed back a couple of days.

    Re: Zambrano suspended six games

I like Lou's quote from one of the stories on this that I read.

"Well, this is not the [World Wrestling Federation]," Piniella said. "This is professional baseball. I understand the fans like a little -- I don't know what you call it -- emotion, outburst. They've always liked that, especially about the seventh inning, when they've had [a few beverages].
"Baseball has always been a sport where there's been disagreements," Piniella said. "But at the same time, you voice your disagreement and walk away from it and you get back to do what you're getting paid to do, which is pitch or hit or whatever it is."

That's true. Lou's always been one to let cooler heads prevail...

Uh little league or riding the pine on your podunk high school JV team doesn't count for you "playing the game."

Again, the substance Manny was busted for was not banned last year. How do you know Manny does have problems getting hard? It is Manny after all.

The fact that Lou couldn't stop laughing at the press conference after the game shows me that he isn't all that mad at Z.

Like I said before, I love the guy's passion. There are not many players out there that wear their emotions on their sleeve and give it 110% each time out. Plus, him throwing the ump out of the game was priceless.

So that makes it okay right? 99.9% of the players aren't stupid enough to take a banned substance not once, but TWICE, during testing.

And it wasn't Viagra, it was a drug used to come down after a steriod cycle.

99.9%? Again, produce the facts, don't just throw **** out there and see what sticks to make your argument. According to many sources, a hell of a lot more than .1% of pro baseball players have used illegal substances. And that's just in the current "steroid" era. Go back to the 50s, 60s and 70s when players took any kind of speed they could get their hands on. And back in the early 1900s, all sorts of nefarious stuff went on.

All you goody goodys who think you're so stand up for looking down on these guys for what they do need to give it a rest because you have no clue what goes on, when, with who or how and you never will.

Ok - so I read the title of the thread and jump straight to the "last post".

Imagine my surprise at the surreal turn in conversation......

How many players are in MLB? 25 per team (more later in the year), 30 teams...that is over 750 players. How many have been suspending 50 games under the new drug policy? 3? 4? Not many, that is for sure.

Are you taking majors or not. In the minors there have been quite a lot of players suspended. In the majors I can think of only 3 off the top of my head

And again...The drug not only is a female fertility drug but it's also used for males who have problems getting a hard on. Start looking up facts for yourself, not just relying on ESPN for all your information.

By paste did you mean score just 3 runs in 3 days?
