To answer your question: If the guy is literally automatic for five yards per play you take him, run the ball every down, never go more than 20 plays between touchdowns, win the Super Bowl, and retire the guy as a hall of famer after three MVP seasons.

Take the first guy. The second guy is more exciting, but the first guy allows you to run a consistent offense.

Eric Dickerson and Walter Payton each did it one season.

Give me the play maker. #1, big play guys put butts in the seats. #2 a big guy, that can't catch and can gain 5 yards a run will be much easier to find.
