If Gordon Beckham is in the majors before September, the Sox are desperate. I don't think it will happen.

I wouldn't either, but you can just kinda tell he's gonna be special. He looked damn good in spring training. I don't want to have to have him up this soon either, but he may force their hand.

Local radio here in Chicago is saying Beckham was just called up after Betemit was DFA.

Jeez, so I know Betemit has a glove made of concrete, but they must not think he can hit either. I guess Jayson Nix is our new backup IF.

I was really really sorry to see sweeney go. Plus he's an iowa kid. He's robbed two homers from kinsler already this season. Too bad he wasn't quite ready when we first brought him up

I kind of was, but he's still developed ZERO power. He always could hit for contact, but good luck slugging over .400.

BTW, Slayer is supposed to start tomorrow. Side note, he developed the nickname online, because a poster on a Sox message board from UGA said he used to "slay a lot of p****". So naturally it stuck.
