Cubs bring up Fox
Cubs recall Fox; available for Sox series - ESPN Chicago
The Chicago Cubs are recalling Jake Fox from Triple-A Iowa, according to ESPNChicago.com's Bruce Levine.
Fox was called up on May 27 after leading all minor-leaguers with a .423 average. He started one game for the Cubs. Overall, he had five hits and two RBIs in 12 at-bats.
Fox was sent down June 10.
The corresponding move is not yet known.
My guess is Soriano will be sent to the DL.

Re: Cubs bring up Fox
Fox was only sent down on 6/10, so someone has to be headed to the DL for him to come back already. Soriano to the DL makes sense, but I'd be happy if Miles went to the DL for a long time. The Cubs have 13 pitchers, so one of them could be headed to the DL.

Re: Cubs bring up Fox
They better actually play him this time, not give him 12 AB and send him back down like last time.

The Cubs need an extra bat, but since they're not putting one of the starters on the DL I'm afraid Fox isn't going to play much. Hoffpauir and Johnson barely get to play as it is.

Ok that makes more sense. Unless it got worse Sori isn't going anywhere. I've got a feeling he's going to get hot before the break.

I don't know the exact number of days, but there is a required number of days before the big league club can call a player back up, unless it is to replace someone going to the DL.

Re: Cubs bring up Fox
I'm glad that Fox is back in the show, but let's face it, this is a showcasing. Fox is tradebait. Personally, Hendry should try and keep the guy.
