Re: Shaq traded to the Cavs
Bill Simmons take: Cleveland's trade for Shaq was like someone buying homeowner's insurance 4 weeks after losing everything in a house robbery. Don't confuse hope for a plan. -
Re: Shaq traded to the Cavs
Don't like the move for the Cavs. Don't need a out of his prime expensive center( I no he played good last year but im skeptical) who can't run the floor and will clog up the lane when lebron looks to penetrate.

Re: Shaq traded to the Cavs
Wow, and Shaq's last twitter was about Ed Thomas.

Re: Shaq traded to the Cavs
He's not exactly the Shaq in his prime that Kobe got to play with, but he'll be good enough for LeBron to win a championship next year. Yes, I'm making a way too early prediction. Cavs=2010 NBA champions.

Agree with the above poster... from what I've read and heard before this trade was that many experts think adding a legit big man to the Cavs would hurt Lebron's game.

Re: Shaq traded to the Cavs
Imo, this is a bad fit for Cleveland and the analogy of buying home owners insurance 4 weeks after losing everything in a house robbery doesn't even suffice. Shaq is fading quickly. Isn't a full season solution. They'll have to save him for the playoffs and hope he has enough in the tank for that. I think next year will end up being the straw that breaks the camel's back for LeBron's days in Cleveland.

Wasn't a big problem they had with Orlando that Dwight Howard easily beat their big men down court?
I don't see Shaq fixing that, and I don't see how he is able to complement LeBron's game. If I were a Cavs fan, once I got past the big name Shaq has, I'd really be shaking my head.

I get the feeling that more than anything this is Cleveland trying to say to LeBron "see, we're trying to get you help" so he doesn't bail on them, which I think will happen.
I keep hearing people, talking heads, heralding this move and I frankly think it's maybe one of the dumber moves they could have made.
We'll see, I've been wrong before, but it just doesn't sit right for the reason mentioned.
If I am Dwight Howard...I am not worried.

If I am Dwight Howard...I am not worried. Yeah, I have trouble seeing this helping their case to keep LeBron. I assumed he was staying, but a move like this makes me wonder (about something that I can't possibly know) whether it's worse for the Cavs than we know.
Either way, I just don't see a real inspired decision here.
