That team was one something like two teams....ever......to be first place in their division wire to wire and only lose one game in the playoffs.

They also had a horseshoe shoved somewhere.

Do you guys think the Cubs might look at a guy like Mark Teahen?

Right, I get that, and no doubt they were a great team, but having an entire roster of guys playing well above their talent level had something to do with it.

As far as the Cubs making a move, I think they'll wait until this 4 game series with the Brewers plays out before they decide if they're buyers or sellers.

    I think they'll be sellers.

Reed Johnson could be a nice OF addition for us.

He'd be our fifth outfielder after Quentin came back.

A-Ram coming back is huge for the team. only one problem. where does that put Jake Fox? A-Ram takes 3B back, D-Lee is starting to hit a little bit so no 1B, Soto is starting to hit a lot better as well so no catcher like he played in the minors a lot.... he cant play 2B and it'd be a little sketchy to throw him in LF or RF, which really isnt possible anyways with Soriano and Bradley. I guess he will just have to bounce around filling in for people and getting pinch hit AB's... its a shame because hes the best bat on the cubs lately. maybe trade him over to the AL as DH and get some bullpen help

My guess is that Fontenot may be the odd man out. But who knows.
Fuld was called up on Monday.

While I think Fox deserves a chance to play more based on his play so far, there just isn't a spot for him with AR coming back. I think he will stay in Chicago and be a Hoffpauir type player. My guess is Fuld gets sent down.

Right field, unless our new hero takes the spot.

But that's my question - can they?

I'm ignorant on these transactions - but I thought there were rules on how fast, how often and such, you an move a player between the bigs and minor league teams. And I thought they had to stay for something like 10 or 15 days. That's probably completely wrong....

But if not, and Sam just got there on Monday, sending him back to free up a spot the following Monday wouldn't seem to work.

BTW - caught the games the end of last week in DSM. He played very well. I'm about ready to just swap teams between DSM and Chicago (calling Hoff and Fox DSM players)

I believe you can send guys down as quickly as you want. Once you send a guy down, though, he has to stay down for 10 days unless you call him up to replace someone you sent to the DL (as happened when Scales was sent down only to be called up the next day when Freel went to the DL).
