    Re: ESPN Baseball Announcers

Joe Morgan and Phillips were brutal last night, almost as bad as IMO the worst team Fernando Vina and Eric Young on Baseball Tonight.

Those are the only two I can't stand. Other ones I can stand.

Thats a total hawkeye crap argument and you should be ashamed of yourself for even stooping so low.

The crappy announcer debate concerning ESPN and FOX has been going on for years. It has nothing to do with 1 game. Its a legit point that is talked about by lots of fans of many teams.

I agree with everything except for the word 'debate.' I think we've all pretty much agreed that the announcers stink.

I took a small stab at trying to be unbiased.
    Unlike some others.

I remember as a kid watching a game and hearing Harry Caray ask if it's nickel beer inning yet, and asking someone to go get him a few. Don't think it was meant to go over the air, and like he has to wait for nickel beer inning.

I never have cared for Morgan. He never seems to have a good thing to say about the Cubs. The rest of the guys aren't too bad.

Morgan lost any tiny bit of respect I had for him I had when a few years ago he went out of his way to make sure the Veterans committee didn't vote in Ron Santo.
Total bush league move that wont be forgotten.

Somebody's in a grumpy mood. Oh ye of 46 posts, you don't know jack about me, who I support, or what my alliances are. Especially regarding the hawkeye's. Figure out what and who you're talking about before you spew your junk. I was having fun.

I don't mind Miller...he is a little over the top at times but I kinda like that (a la Gus Johnson calling NCAA basketball). But the 2 suckboxes around him made the game horrible to listen to.

Where was Ron this weekend? I caught a little radio and noticed he wasn't calling the games.

Ron has been sick(and off-air) for a few weeks now.
The Diabetes is starting to catch upwith him,I'm afraid.
I pray he comes back soon.

It isn't just Santo that they've snubbed; the Veterans Committee has never voted anyone in. They're about as relavent and useful as the UN.

A little research into baseball announcer history will show that it should have been a Halsey Hall reference.
