Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today

The only ones who feel bad for Sage Rosenfels are Iowa State fans.

Brett Favre gives them the best chance this year. Assuming his arm doesn't fall off, they probably just about guaranteed them the North. I don't think he's a QB that can still make the Super Bowl because his turnovers are still there and the big plays are less frequent, but the NFC doesn't look too terribly tough this year, either. And it's definitely going to help their already outstanding running game.

With that said, I think he's a narcissistic tool.

TJack is not an option if the Vikes are serious about contending. When opposing teams crank up the pressure, he looks lost out there, and the offense is awful.

Sage is an unknown at this point. He may very well be serviceable, but this isn't the time for experimenting, the Vikings are built to win now.

Favre was MVP caliber two years ago, and was good last year until injuries caught up with him. Assuming he can stay relatively healthy, he is the best choice of the three QBs. And yes, his health is a risk with his age and all, but he doesn't need to be throwing all game, he has AD and Chester Taylor in the backfield.

After three years of putrid offense holding the team back, I'm excited to see what old-man Favre brings to the table.

Tell yourself whatever you want to make yourself feel better. They went down there and it was a go that he was going to be the QB. Than he changed his mind (shocker) and they got ******.

Brett Favre's legacy only continues to grow. He is the greatest competitor in the NFL right now.

Color me as skeptical as the next Vikings fan who has seen his fair share of choking performances, but other then Farve and Bart Starr has any other Packers QB had the opportunity to loose 3 home playoff games?

NFL Live on ESPN reported that Tavaris Jackson probably will not be on the roster by opening day as a result of this deal. Jackson is being shopped around the league.

13-3 .... Packers record in Farve's last season with the team.

6-10 .... Packers record in first season without Farve.

In other news, Minnesota pharmacys are reporting a surplus of panic attack medicine while there appears to be a severe shortage in Green Bay.

Packers record in 2006 with Favre - 8-8
Packers record in 2005 with Favre - 4-12

If you're implying that QB play was the problem for Green Bay last year, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Also, one would think that as a Viking fan that you know how to spell the mans name.

That may be the most idiotic post in this thread! What is Paris Hilton famous for? Has she won 3 MVP's? A Super Bowl? Set tons of records? Etc

Ha sorry for being harsh but I don't get the comparison at all

Now Favre to Tom Cruise I would get. People loved him early and towards the middle of his career, but towards the end people lost respect for him!

That's crazy. I feel bad for him because I don't know who will want him right now.

I don't know. Climate controlled playing field for all home games, speedy field, solid receivers, a running game that must be respected - opening up the passing lanes, strong o-line. This could be very interesting. A sorry QB situation still got this team to the playoffs (with a home game) last season. Imagine what a 50% Farve could do.
