Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
you vikings fan arent going to be ******** when you make a deep playoff run because of him. you were a qb and/or a decent secondary away from the SB last year, and he is obviously better than what you already have. anyone who says that tjax or sage are more serviceable needs to take off their yellow and purple glasses and quit hating the man because of his ex team affiliations and the media circus. The media circus wasnt even his fault until now... he had big decisions to make and the media blew it out of proportion. The fact that he said he was retired and changed his mind this summer already IS his fault though. Think back to Jordan, he never had this kind of disdain just because the media kept following him and he did the same thing.

Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
Well two weeks ago he couldn't play another season, now he can . . .
I hope within the first three weeks Sage is back starting after Brett suffers through skipping training camp and not being able to get things clicking.
Sucks to be Sage though, he's never had the support of Vikings players who have always wanted Favre.

Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
This is a big improvement at the one position the Vikings need...I am excited! I did not want to see TJack again, and I was willing to give Sage a chance, but Favre is the best option right now.

Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
I really think, at this point, Favre and Sage are about equal. I know that may sound bad, but Favre is almost 40. I believe Sage could have managed the game, cut down turnovers, and been successful. The Vikings have enough talent that they don't need a great QB to win.
I think this move is more about selling tickets and merchandise than anything else.

Kind of an odd quote from Childress, from the ESPN article:
Asked if the plan was to sign Favre on Tuesday, Childress replied: "In a perfect world."

Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
He could have walked away from the game with full grace and respect from the Packer fanbase and football fans in general. That, in itself, is far greater a reward than the farfetched chance of winning a championship or making more money... or, giving the Packer management the finger. Whatever it is he is seeking now, it is not worth it.

Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
It is shocking that some of you haven't been hired by the Vikings as consultants given all the insight you're evidently able to determine that those currently employed in the Viking's organization who eat, breath, and live football everyday haven't. I'd suggest sending your comments and resumes ASAP.
Fyi...Favre already knows the offense. It is essentially what he has run most of his career. He'll just have to get familiar with the terminology the Vikings use (and who knows…maybe that was all feed to him weeks ago). -
Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
Schedule (how patsy can you get for the first 3 games) ....@ CLEV, @ Detroit, SF, GREEN BAY, @ StL, BALT, @ Pitt, @ GB ....by Nov 1st his season is over. If he servives @ Pitt, he won't make it out of Lambeau!
I just hope if GB doesn't take him out Chicago does!

Cris Carter just reported on Sportscenter that Favre will start Friday against the Chiefs.

Whatever it is he is seeking now, it is not worth it. So because the Packers didnt want him any longer it was disrespectful to them (Packers fans) to continue to play? He should be able to play as long as someone wants to employ him. He could also start in Jacksonville, Cleveland, St Louis, San Fran, Oakland, Miami, and Detroit. I hope he jams it up Packer fans ***** this year. Football season is better with #4 in the league. I love watching him play.
As a Niner fan I was hurt when they traded Joe to KC. But I never, ever felt any ill will towards him.

I just hope if GB doesn't take him out Chicago does! Every team in the North has pretty much the same schedule, save 2 or 3 games.
