Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
i have now lost alot of respect for favre... this is bs...
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

as a Packer fan and former Brett fan, it will be so sweet if Rodgers could show him up in Lambeau.

The Green Bay Packers weren't going to stop playing football because Brett Favre retired. It was also plainly obvious last summer that the Packers were willing to bring him back, but only if he was 100% committed to the team. They felt he wasn't and moved on. Seeing how things have played out, it was the right move. Instead of breaking in Matt Flynn or Brian Brohm at QB this year, the Packers have someone who has been with the team for 5 years now.
Come next season, the Packers will be in a better position at QB than the Vikings will be, as this is clearly an all-in type move by the Vikings. The goal for the Vikings isn't to make the playoffs, it's to win the Super Bowl.

Sorry, you don't throw away a franchise QB for someone who's got a year or two left. They hardly "threw" Favre away. Favre retired (do people really forget that?), and the organization moved on. You also don't throw away your first round draft pick without him ever seeing the field, which is what would have happened if the Packers had brought Favre back last year.

Pack mgmt didnt want him. He wanted to play. Thats why he is wearing purple and gold this year.

He wanted to play, but that's all he wanted to do. He didn't want to put in the work that the other 52 guys on the roster were putting in, and that (putting in the work) was what the Packers were looking for last August. They didn't see it from him, and showed him the door.

Lets dispense with the notion that Minnesota was some sort of juggernaut last year. They were the team that sucked the least in divison that had 4 of them, hence the first-round playoff beatdown at the hand of the Eagles.
All this hype surrounding the Vikings is only going to make it that much sweeter when they fall on their faces, and with KXNO carrying the Vikings this year, we'll all get to hear Paul Allen sobbing into his microphone when it happens.

If I were the Packers, I would have let him go in those conditions as well.

Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
After looking into my crystal ball, I can tell you that Iron man BF will get hurt again (hello Karma!) and Sage will save the day.......and I don't have to look into a crystal ball to know that Sage will show up and work hard every single day regardless of what happens - this is why I think Sage prevails in the end.
Depth at QB is never a bad thing, but I just have to wonder what the true feelings in the locker room are since Brett is "above training camp" and gets this thing handed to him w/o earning anything as a part of the Vikings roster. Should be a very interesting season in the TC!
