Re: Favre To Sign With Vikings Today
ESPNews picked up the live feed and was broadcasting Favre's trip to Winter Park.
I am a Viking's fan and am extremely excited about this. That said, I can understand any Packer fan's feeling of disloyality. Steve Young was commenting on this on ESPN just now and he said this is the first time anyone of this significance has made this kind of move to a direct rival.
Aside...the TV executives have to be loving this!!

They didn't see it from him, and showed him the door. Right. The Packers didnt want him. He still wanted to play. Now hes a Viking getting ready to punk Packers everywhere. I understand that.

Depth at QB is never a bad thing, but I just have to wonder what the true feelings in the locker room are since Brett is "above training camp" and gets this thing handed to him w/o earning anything as a part of the Vikings roster. Should be a very interesting season in the TC! Hurt again? Quick tell me the last time Favre missed a game due to an injury............

The Packers absolutely wanted him. They even flew down to get him. But he changed his mind 1 to many times for their likely and they said "enough."
Good for them. Wasn't smart as far as W's go last year for them but it will pay off in 2 years or so

I hope he has his worst season to date and that Sage has to come in and save the day.

Neither set is something to write home about, but......... Precisely. Personal feelings aside, this seems like a move with many possible downsides, and few upsides. What are stats regarding 40-year old QB's surviving a full season as a starter? How did they perform? As his been pointed out in a previous thread, over the past 3 seaons, Favre's performance drops off noticeably in the last quarter of the season.
I'm sure it also didn't help Sage's case that he has missed the last couple of days of practice with a sore ankle.
Can we have a CyBookie as to when Favre gets replaced as starting QB? Something with maybe for options, like Games 1-4, Games 5-8, Games 9-12, Games 13-16?

I hope the 12 mil comes with a clause that he goes into the hall as a Viking.

The only address I could find was his fan mail one, but that might be good enough.

I think I'm going to include some of his football cards with his face marked up and torn up.

You don't go into the NFL Hall with a specific team. All teams are listed equally.

I'm right there with you, but if he brings home the hardware, I think I can forgive him for his time in Green Bay.
