Who is hating on Sage? I think most people are realistic about the situation. Sage would have done a fine job this year but it is clear to anyone that the Vikings are better off with Favre. The only people that would argue with that are ISU fans

Well, I would hope that most of the people on this board are exactly that.

I'm a huge Cyclone fan that loves Sage. That doesn't mean that I think the Vikings are better off with him starting than Brett Favre.

Don't you feel the same way?!?!

Sage is a better option because he is not Brett freakin Favre. Seriously, anyone but him.

How many interceptions did he throw in practice? Wait he'll hold off on those until the regular season when it counts.

What I'd like to see from the Favre supporters is an emotion-free objective argument as to why Favre is "better" than Sage. QB ratings from the last four years were posted in the other thread, several times. They certainly don't show any advantage for Favre. I have not yet seen a Favre supporter address these numbers.

I'm one of those northern plains cold-hearted stoics of German-Russian descent. We are not persuaded by emotional, subjective tripe. Give me an objective reason why I, as a Vikings fan, should be excited that a 40 year old with a rotator cuff tear and so much pain three weeks ago that he couldn't sign a contract is going to be the starting QB for the Vikings?

    Stolen from other thread:

    QB Ratings.......last 4 seasons........

    Brett Favre
    81.0 95.7 72.7 70.9

    Sage
    79.5 84.1 103.0 81.5

Cyclones thoughts on the Favre situation, I find it pretty cool that Arnaud and Sage text.

Because the Viking's organization and coaches are a lot closer to this than you or I and it makes sense to them. Were you in Mankato personally scouting Sage's progress during two-a-days? Isn't it a bit arrogant to believe you have this better analyzed than those that do this for a living?

The emotional arguement is to sit back from afar and claim to know that Sage would be the better QB.

I appreciate the update. I know a lot of Viking fans here on the board are not happy about Favre but I'm good with it. I'm willing to see where it goes.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

This is the same organization that thought T-Jax was the answer, so they drafted him two rounds too early.

This. The only Favr-uh practice update I want is the one that tells about him siffering a career ending knee injury. I never hope for players to be hurt but in Favr-uhs case I will make an exception. Brett Favr-uh is on a lower level of being human garbage then Eugene Chizdick.

Are you referring to what he did with the Jets last year? 5 td passes in a game early in the season and by week 10 he was averaging around 3 or 4 int's a game. If I remember correctly he lead the NFL in INT's last year and actually led the Jets straight out of playoff contention. He is a washed up has been who just cant stand not being in the spotlight anymore.

    81.0 95.7 72.7 70.9

    Sage
    79.5 84.1 103.0 81.5

    Reasons:

1: Experience- Favre has it. The others don't. Especially come playoff time

    2. Running Game- Look at what Favre has done the last couple years for a running game. Hard to load the box when he can beat you. The others (Sage and TJ) don't scare teams at all

    3. Those #'s of sage are from a total of 4 years. Not really a full look on how productive he would be if he was a full time starter. The 103 QB rating was thrown on 39 attempts on the season. What I am trying to say is that his stats are pretty much meaningless

    4. Favre is better- Once again the only people that disagree nationwide are Cyclone fans.

It is no coincidence that Vegas Odds on the Vikings winning the super bowl went from 25-1 to 12-1. And to win the division they went from 12-1 to 6-1.
