The "better" part of the NL isn't that pitchers get to/have to hit, it's the strategy required to manage a game in the NL. It's fun to see the box score from a 15-inning NL marathon and see how effectively the managers managed the game. AL = no strategy required.

You know... It might be nice to have cheerleaders on the field. How about you can tackle the guy as he runs to first. Hmm... What else can we do to trash the game?

Probably four of the five best teams in baseball are in the NL so I really don't get where HiltonMagic is coming from...

    how about:

In the 251 Interleague games that dotted the Major League schedule in two stints (May 22-24 and June 12-28), the American League went 137-114 (.546) and nine of the 14 AL clubs had winning records. The 2009 season marked the sixth straight campaign in which the AL won the season series, extending its all-time Interleague lead to 1,673-1,534 (.522).
AL rides its stars to Interleague success | MLB.com: News

or the fact that the AL hasn't lost an all-star game since 1996.

or the fact that Smoltz can go from sucking *** in the AL to being great in the NL?

or the fact that the only teams interested in a ****** pitcher like Penny are NL teams, where he'll probably dominate.

Forgot how this was such a good judge of a league. All it tells me is the AL has three really good closers. Just about every game has been a one run game.

If you knew ANYTHING about baseball, you would have seen that he was actually PITCHING BETTER. Remember, he also got rocked by the NATIONALS while playing for the Red Sox. Last I knew they were in the NL.

Are the Twins in the NL? There aren't many NL teams interested in Penny and he certainly didn't dominate last year with the Dodgers.
Is .522 even a valid argument?

    umm...

National League playoff contenders San Francisco and Florida have expressed interest in the veteran right-hander, sources said.
it might make sense for him at this point to go to the National League -- as it has helped Cliff Lee and John Smoltz, who both moved from the AL to the NL in the last month.

If you were to take the five best teams, RIGHT NOW. It would be Yankees, Cardinals, Dodgers, Phillies, Rockies.
