Of the last 8 world series (in the 2000s) 4 have been NL and 4 have been AL... which means, they're fairly even. I give the NL the nod because I just seem to think, this year, the NL is better. Plus, the AL is always weighed down in opinion because there are so many yankees and red sox fans who only see two teams (ex: Peter Gammons and all espn anchors)

They are a better league from top to bottom. Better hitters, better position players, better pitchers. The All-star game record proves this. Stop drinking your NL Kool-aid.

That's a TERRIBLE barometer. You don't know much about baseball if you think it is a good barometer...
If it's a good barometer, why wouldn't Pedro have pitched the entire thing when he was dominating people a couple years back (including barry bonds) for one inning? Why wouldn't Jeter play the whole game because no one makes people around him better like Jeter does? Why would Pujols not be in the whole game?

I actually think that the leagues are so close that the whole thing is a tupid argument, thats why I always take the NL side... It's all the same players...

How is the All-Star game a terrible barometer? You have most of the top players in each league filling out 35 roster spots. Just about everyone of them sees playing time sometime throughout the game. The All Star game proves that the AL has better players all around, and that fact is not arguable.

The last that I've heard is that the two clubs have agreed on compensation (Hermsen & Tosino), but that the deal will hinge on Harden agreeing to a contract extension.
Tosino is no big loss for the Twins as he would probably never get past the outfielder glut in the system. Hermsen (Iowa native) fell to a lower round in last year's draft due to signability questions. The Twins pulled off the signing and he has looked very solid in rookie ball - basically a 1st round talent. I don't like giving up Hermsen, but the immediate benefits are worth the move.
The biggest impact is that it would demonstrate the Twins commitment to winning and be a huge boost to securing an extension from Mauer.

Re: Harden, Heilman claimed
The Cardinals Dodgers and Phillies
would do fine vs the Angels Tigers and Yankees
If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find
them - maybe you can hire: The A-Team. -
Re: Harden, Heilman claimed
That deal should be only if Harden doesn't agree to an extension if he agrees to one then the Cubs have to get more in a deal
-
Re: Harden, Heilman claimed
they should make the twins take Bradley and half his contract
The cubs would do that trade for a 35 year old guy in a ball

Re: Harden, Heilman claimed
I bet the Cubs would hold on to him if he told them that he wouldn't accept arbitration. I think the fact that he's been constantly injured and the Cubs if he were to accept arbitration would be on the hook for about 10 million is the only reason they are even thinking about trading him
