How does tennis get so much TV time?

Re: How does tennis get so much TV time?
Ratings = tv time. Simple equation.

The US Open is the largest spectator draw in the United States - some 700,000 fans attend the event annually. As a tennis widower (my wife was mentioned in Sunday's DM Register for making Nationals, quick brag on her) I can tell you that people that play tennis are consumed by the sport.

As a tennis player, I too love the coverage, especially the night matches.
I'm sure ESPN is doing cartwheels because of the Melanie Oudin story - I'm sure her match tonight will spike the ratings.

Did Hannah Storm get plastic surgery? She looks kind of hot.
She's no Dick Enberg but you get my point.
