    There isn't enough tennis on TV from my point of view. I question all the MMA and Ultimate fighting or and POKER, why the frick is POKER on TV?

    Why is there so much Poker on TV. They replay each year like 5 times. is it that exciting even tho you know what the river card is going to be?

    No, actually, tennis rating are so low that ESPN and The Tennis Channel are paying a combined $22 mil per year to air the US Open. That's chicken feed, and it's because of low ratings.

    Not taking shot at you but other than Wimbeldon, the later rounds of the French Open, the later rounds of the Australian Open and many rounds of the US Open - how much is it on?

    The US Open is the largest spectator draw in the United States - some 700,000 fans attend the event annually. As a tennis widower (my wife was mentioned in Sunday's DM Register for making Nationals, quick brag on her) I can tell you that people that play tennis are consumed by the sport.

    Chicken feed or not, the ratings are high enough for ESPN to want to air the tournament.

    As a tennis player, I too love the coverage, especially the night matches.
    I'm sure ESPN is doing cartwheels because of the Melanie Oudin story - I'm sure her match tonight will spike the ratings.
