My husband and I started really hating ESPN for a similar reason. They were going to show a college hockey frozen four game, and college lacrosse ran over. The college hockey game was supposed to be starting on ESPN360 but we couldn't get it to work. I despise ESPN!

See, theres this thing called money, and ESPN just realized that they really like this 'money' thing. Therefore, they find every way to make more of it!!

Maybe not for ESPN, but I know Fox has 4 minute breaks for their national games on weekends. For whatever reason, it seems longer. It never ceases to amaze me that I can turn on a Red Sox game on ESPN (for whatever reason) an hour after it starts, it's only the top of the 2nd, there's no score, and the game has been on for an hour.

They could show the game on classic. They would probably put it on the deuce, but they are showing the WNBA Playoffs - what a joke world series of poker gets better ratings than that crap.

The big problem is that they list a game as 7:00, but first pitch sometimes isn't until about 7:20-7:25...or even later for playoff games (7:40). That's ridiculous.

At least football hasn't gotten that bad (yet). Most college games kick off no later than :12 after the list time (2:42 instead of 2:30, for ABC games).
