I'm sort of mixed on the whole thing. Definitely easier to work out a deal with a team that's winning all of the sudden, but if it gets him on the field and he lives up to his expectations the whole fiasco can easily be forgotten. If anyone can straighten him out it's Singletary.

Generally it's not the player that needs straightened out, it's their agent.

This seems to happen a lot when a players agent is also a family member or close family friend. Agents need to work for the player, not the other way around!

Couldn't agree more. I used up my agent rant in the last Crabtree thread.

I just hope both parties can put it behind them and win some games. The NFC West is ripe for the picking this season!

Personally, I think that is dumb. Not your statement, because I'm pretty sure it's very true, but I think it's dumb that major league athletes allow some outside person to decide when they will or won't play... if it was me and I had an agent tell me to hold out, I'd tell him to shove it and go negotiate it with a new agent or on my own...
