Nobody is forced to watch ESPN. It would be more effective than waterboarding, however.

Just goes to show that money CAN buy you happiness. I hope they enjoy pilfering everyone's best talent and giving no one else any chance to sign free agents.

Sad knowing that only about 6 teams have a legit shot going into spring training. When a single player makes more than most teams, there is a problem. Wish baseball would finalize realize it and fix it.

And it's nice to know that the Twins should be on that list. I know they'll never be able to spend like the Yankee$ (barring MLB installing a salary cap), but, since they're opening that new stadium, if they would start spending like the Cardinals, this could be a very interesting team, especially with their ability to evaluate minor league talent.

The Union wanted the Yankees to win, they need the Yankees to win to show that all you have to do is spend money and you can win... Frugal teams winning the series hurts the union...

Take this for example.
-CC wanted to play on the West Coast and in the NL. He had offers from LA and SF, but the Yankees offered him more. The Union essentially made him sign with NY.
-Texiera had a larger offer for more years from the Nationals, close to his home town, the Union pushes him towards the Yankees.

Salary is a factor in winning championships, but is not the only factor. The Yankees have had the biggest salary in baseball for the past 10 years, and this is their first championship in that period. By contrast Florida has 2 championships during that period with much lower payrolls.
