Why is it a good day to you? Because I'm a fan of the team but absolutely cannot stand his antics off the field. Plus I like what Charles brings to the offense and he hasn't slapped multiple chicks in the club.

Heard that Cleveland might be interested in him.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

It doesn't bother me to see LJ go.... it really bothers me to see him go like this, after we wasted all that money on him.
What a huge mistake by Carl Peterson, re-signing LJ and giving him all that money instead of Jared Allen. I guess this proves that an out of his prime, immature weirdo who slaps around women and complains about everything is more of an “At-Risk Player” (as Carl Peterson would say) than a wild man with two OWIs (who now has plenty of money to pay for cab/limo rides home at this point in his career). -
Re: Chiefs release Larry Johnson - YES!
Good riddance. I hope he does go find a team that he can be a better fit, but most importantly I hope he can turn himself into a better man.

Re: Chiefs release Larry Johnson - YES!
Plus everyone in KC knows he has the gift that keeps on giving. Don't make me explain that one.
He hates KC, has no desire to be here, and quit after he got his money. He thinks he is better than the rest of the team, and hasn't ran hard in two years. The entire team hates him bc he is a pre-madonna (unwarented) and the O-Line doesn't want to block for him. Besides the fact he has no respect for woman and legally can't enter another bar in KC, I say be gone buddy.
Ced Benson was also in his mid 20's when he got released. LJ is approaching 30, the time when RB's die.

Re: Chiefs release Larry Johnson - YES!
Happy to see him go. He has been a whiner since day one when he insisted he could run better than Holmes. And anyone who watched hard knocks on HBO saw how much of a whiner he is. Smack talking divas and Kansas City have never been a good mix. Wish we still had Allen and Gonzalez, but what ya gonna do.

This.^^
Chiefs are going to pay for Peterson's arrogance and ineptitude for years. Look at all the good players that left the Chiefs for little return (Tait, J Allen, Gonzalez). I have no idea if LJ has anything left in the tank, but ridiculous that KC loses a great talent like Allen and handed over a fistful of money to a whiner like LJ. Everything Peterson touched in the last five years turned to dogcrap.

I'm sure somebody will pick him up, but he will never be a starting running back in the NFL again (for anyone other than the Raiders who clearly have no idea what they are doing). He will turn 30 in a couple weeks and was used and abused like a rented mule for several years. In 2006 he ha an NFL record 416 carries!
I'm not a Chiefs fan, but live in KC and am glad to see him go. It was reported in local media that a petition that circulated around town gained 30,000 signatures urging the chiefs to release LJ.

In memory of LJ, I wore my Larry Johnson jersey to a MNF party last night.

Everything Peterson touched in the last five years turned to dogcrap. I couldn't agree more. Peterson did the opposite of what common sense would dictate, and it seemed to pick up steam after Vermeil retired. The guys you mentioned, along with Jared Allen were prime examples of the rampant stupidity exhibited by the organization. And I'm not even going to go into the hiring of Herm. But the one which tops the chart for me Casey Wiegmann. As of this week, he hasn't missed a start in 8 seasons. I saw him on Sports Center a couple of weeks ago throwing a great block 20 yards downfield for the Broncos. Not even close to being washed up.
It's easy to understand why players like Gonzalez wanted out. I would too if I had to witness firsthand the total destruction of a good franchise.
LJ a cancer? Probably, but if I had to go thru the demise which has happened in KC, I would have given up also.
Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.
