I heard Vince Young was going to be an even bigger flameout than Mike Vick...

You have said this over and over and you are just plain wrong. His four year statistics at Florida would tell you that he is quite accurate:
630 completions in 960 attempts (66% completion rate)
85 touchdowns passing and 16 interceptions
As for the "rah rah crap" as you call it...his team mates at Florida have not thought him "an idiot" have they? The reality is that anyone that can walk the walk like Tebow will never be thought of as an idiot by their peers. And make no mistake, Tebow is way more about walking the walk than talking the talk.
You don't have to like Tebow or his chances to play QB in the NFL...that is your choice. But at least be accurate when you talk about his abilities.
I loved Hornacek at ISU but I was in the group that never, ever expected him to make it in the NBA...too slow to play point guard, not a good enough shooter/too slow of a release to play shooting guard, too short and unathletic (how many 6-4 guys that can't dunk make it in the NBA?).
You just never know who will and who won't make the transition from a great college career to a great pro career.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Do I think Tebow could be an NFL QB? Sure. But the odds are stacked against him. NFL scouts hit on far more guys than they miss on. So if scouts are saying they don't think he is a QB, then odds are he won't be a QB. Sure he could be one of the few exceptions, but its not as likely as him playing a different position IMO.

Tebow doesn't read defense in his offense and isn't accurate. See Pat White, Major Applewhite, Eric Crouch, Akili Smith, Andre Ware Tom Brady started all games his junior and senior season. In fact, in his his junior season he set records in, I believe pass attempts and completions. Obviously Brady has accuracy. Tebow completed about 66 percent of his passes. That's pretty accurate. Graham Harrell was accurate, how come he wasn't drafted? Are you really going to write off Pat White right now?

I'm not sure what their "batting average" is but you see guys like Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf taken very high in the draft because they "have all the tools" and they flame out. On the other hand you see guys like Tom Brady or Kurt Warner either not get drafted or are drafted very low and they become Hall of Famers.
Looks like it is more art than science to me...and as I have said before, I like what Tim Tebow brings to the table...both in terms of tools and, more importantly, intangibles.
I will go out on a limb here and tell you that I think Tebow and his abilities are very similar to those of Steve Young. Both athletic QBs that could both run and pass. If you look at their stats in college they are pretty similar (Tebow's are better). both played 3 years as starting QB. Young completed 592 passes for 7733 yards and 56 TDs while Tebow completed 630 passes for 8803 yards and 85 TDs. Young rushed for 1048 yards and 18 TDs while Tebow rushed for 2896 yards and 56 TDs. Interestingly, Young set a single season completion percentage record his senior year by completing just over 71% of his passes. Tebow completed 66% of his passes for his career.

Steve Young had the ability to throw a spiral
-
Re: Jax Jaguars / Urban Meyer / Tim Tebow rumor I heard today
and Young didn't face anything close to the defenses that Tebow did.

Jefferey Chadiha is the main NFL writer for ESPN and is on 810 in KC all the time because he lives here. He said of the 31 NFL GM's not a single one has Tebow playing QB in the NFL. I'm guessing they know more than you do. Was he a great college QB? No doubt but so are lots of guys.

With your ridiculous comments like the one above, it dawns on me that you may have never seen Tebow play. Have you? Because if you had, you would know that he most certainly can throw a spiral.

I don't know how many Gator games you have watched but Tebow throws far more deep and intermediate routes than you would think. His numbers fell off this year but he also lost his two top weapons and was playing with a very mediocre core of skill players. Florida also ran a number of plays 'under center' this year.

Re: Jax Jaguars / Urban Meyer / Tim Tebow rumor I heard today
tebow has ALL the tools to be a great NFL qb
-great decision making
-great arm strength
-great leadership
-accuracy (if you don't believe this, tell me, how many times do you see tebow throw a bad pass in a game? Other than the alabama game, he just doesn't make mistakes.)
-quickness and manueverablity in the pocket
-intelligence
-great work ethic, leading me to believe he can accomplish whatever he sets his mind to.

So your telling me that Tebow wasn't as good when he didn't have as many weapons and had to work under center?
Thanks

Re: Jax Jaguars / Urban Meyer / Tim Tebow rumor I heard today
"wasn't as good" as in 12-1 and SEC runner up, BCS bowl game, 5th in the heisman.
And i don't think they ran any under center. I heard the announcer of one of his games say "and tebow is about to take his first ever snap under center" When it was actually just a hard count and they called timeout.

Re: Jax Jaguars / Urban Meyer / Tim Tebow rumor I heard today
You guys are right and every other major network/talking head/GM/Scout and Coach is wrong. You guys all must be in the the wrong profession.
Tebow is a great college QB, but the list of great college QB's that couldn't cut it in the NFL is far longer than the list of QB's the scouts "missed" on. Yes Jamarcus Russell, Rick Mirer and Ryan Leaf were busts. But Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan are just some of the first round QB's that have had sucess. I just like to get my information from people that seem to work in the business and have an idea of what it takes in the NFL and none of those people see Tebow as a QB in the NFL. So you guys can keep up your hopes that your personal savior Tebow will be good in the NFL, but i doubt he even gets a chance.

Thanks He actually did very well under center, even flashing some nice play action, but when all you have to throw to is a tight end you numbers will suffer (see Jay Cutler).
