Jax Jaguars / Urban Meyer / Tim Tebow rumor I heard today
LSU just hired an assistant coach from Florida. There is a rumor that Jaguar's owner Wayne Weaver wants to hire Urban Meyer as head coach and draft Tim Tebow with their first pick in this year's draft.
I can certainly see how this might be financially attractive for Weaver in at least the short term in terms of creating publicity and invigorating local interest in his Jaguar franchise.
Not sure I believe all this will happen...but it could...couldn't it?

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

No.
The Jags would become the laughing stock of the NFL.

Any franchise would be ******** to take Tebow as a QB and in the first round on top of that? Thats just stupid.

So he wants to break in a rookie coach and a rookie QB in the same year. Yah, I'm sure that'll work well for him.

I could see it.....I think Tebow might be available in the second round.

It would be temporary at most. It would get old as well when they find out he can't cut it as a QB in the NFL. Then they'll be back to square one. Jags will be in LA in the next 5 years.

Heard somebody on the radio last night talking about Tebow and the Jags. The Jags have already played their hand by letting everyone know who they are going to draft. Speculation is that whoever is right ahead of the Jags will take Tebow and then trade him to them for a hefty sum.
What ever happened to truth, justice and the American Way? -

Draft a proven winner of a QB and good leader. Does sound like a joke to me
Now drafting Tebow in the 1st round would be a joke

Not selling out a single home game this year and having your games blacked out makes them the laughing stock of the NFL.
They need to sell tickets. Badly. Or they will lose their franchise.

This could create a whole new system in the NFL aka Wildcat. Not saying its going to work, but the offense Florida ran, if continued with Tebow at Jacksonville could work, in my opinion with the right skill players.

I agree that Jacksonville needs to step up or the franchise will be sold and moved, which is unfortunate as I've always had a soft spot for the team. The solution to this problem should not, however, be a gimmick by Weaver.
If they did this it will tear the team apart. No professional football player will want to play on this team, and nobody would blame them.
