NFL will not have rookie wage scale until at least 2012
Pro Football Talk - ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that the NFL will not implement a rookie wage scale until the 2012 season at the earliest.
The decision will likely have an impact on college football players that thought about declaring for the draft early to avoid the pending scale.
Mortensen made a plea to young players on Sunday morning.
"Do not listen to agents who are scaring you into a rookie wage scale or a rookie cap. ... Don't let agents deceive you and lie about this rookie wage scale and rookie cap that would affect you into coming out early."
Do you think the wage scale is a good thing?

of course. Jamarcus Rusell makes a ton and he is one of the worst qbs of this era.
that michael crabtree holdout was bs considering he is good, but hes not brandon marshall good.
it sucks seeing these rookies make millions without playing an nfl game while boldin gets paid a lot less.

Yeah, it's not like the #1 draft pick is going to be making chump change after a cap. They will still be instant millionaires. It has already spiralled out of control so that every team wants to trade out of the top of the draft. Teams like Detroit almost can't afford to have the number one pick anymore.
A cap will bring value back to the top of the draft.
